Recumbent Knee Flexor Stretch

Lying on the back in a doorway with one straight leg resting up the doorframe, the hips edge closer to the frame until the back of that thigh stretches; held for time.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the back in a doorway, hips just in front of the frame, one leg straight up against it, the other flat on the floor through the doorway.

Steps

  1. Keep the raised knee straight and the other leg flat.
  2. Walk the hips toward the frame until the back of the thigh stretches, and hold.
  3. Slide the hips away to ease out, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Bending the raised knee to get closer: keep it straight and lie farther away. Lifting the other leg off the floor: keep it long and flat. Arching or rounding the lower back: the floor holds it; let it.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
