Push to Run
A running drill on the spot: drive the knee up to hip height, kick the lower leg out straight, then fold it back and repeat.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall on one leg, the other knee lifted, arms bent as for running.
Steps
- Drive the knee up to hip height.
- Kick the lower leg forward until the leg is straight.
- Fold it back to the knee-up position; switch legs after the set.
Common mistakes
Knee dropping below the hip before the kick: lift first, then extend. Leaning back as the leg straightens: the torso stays tall. Standing knee locked stiff: keep it soft, balanced on the ball of the foot.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
