Pilates Machine Lying Running
Lying on a Pilates reformer with the balls of the feet on the foot bar, the heels drop under the bar in turn as the other knee bends, like running in place.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the carriage, head on the headrest, balls of the feet on the foot bar, legs pressed straight.
Steps
- Lower one heel under the bar as the other knee bends.
- Switch sides, keeping the carriage still.
- Keep an even rhythm, the pelvis steady.
Common mistakes
Carriage jerking in and out: keep the straight leg pressing so it stays still. Hips rocking side to side: keep the pelvis level on the carriage. Heels barely moving: drop each one fully under the bar.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
