Machine Preacher Curl (Turned Torso)

A one-arm machine preacher curl seated sideways, the torso turned so the working arm lies across the pad at an angle.

How to do it

Setup

Seated sideways in the preacher machine, torso turned toward the pad, working arm across it, hand on the handle, palm up.

Steps

  1. Curl the handle up, the arm flat across the pad.
  2. Keep the torso turned and still.
  3. Lower the handle slowly; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Swinging back to square with the pad mid-rep: the turn is the setup; hold it. Armpit well above the pad: raise the seat. Letting the stack pull the arm straight: control the way down.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
