EZ-Bar Spider Curl

The spider curl with an EZ-bar at a stand-up preacher station: the chest rests on top of the pad and the upper arms lie down its steep face, so the top of the curl stays loaded.

How to do it

Setup

Standing behind a stand-up preacher station, chest over the top of the pad, upper arms down its steep face, EZ-bar held underhand.

Steps

  1. Curl the bar up toward the face.
  2. Keep the chest on the pad and the upper arms on its face.
  3. Lower to nearly straight arms.

Common mistakes

Standing up away from the pad to finish: stay leaning on it. Pulling the elbows back off the pad: they stay down its face. Letting the bar fall the last inches: control the bottom.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
