Machine Lateral Pulldown (Plate-Loaded)
The pulldown on a plate-loaded lever machine, each handle on its own arm; the thighs are braced under pads and the levers set the path.
How to do it
Setup
Seated, thighs under the pads, a handle in each hand overhead, arms long, chest tall.
Steps
- Pull both handles down to the shoulders, elbows toward the hips.
- Squeeze the lats at the bottom without leaning back.
- Let the levers rise to a full stretch overhead.
Common mistakes
One arm finishing ahead of the other: the levers are separate; match the sides. Leaning back to drive the plates: tall torso, lighter load. Plates crashing at the top: control the stretch.
Breathing
Exhale pulling down, inhale returning.
