Machine Cross Lat Pulldown
The pulldown on a machine with independent levers: the handles start close together overhead and travel down and apart to the shoulders.
How to do it
Setup
Seated, thighs under the pads, a handle in each hand close together overhead, arms long.
Steps
- Pull the handles down and apart to the shoulders.
- Finish with the elbows low beside the ribs.
- Let the handles rise back together overhead.
Common mistakes
One handle leading: the levers move alone; keep them level. Pulling the handles in front of the face: they travel down and out to the shoulders. Leaning back to move the load: tall torso, lighter weight.
Breathing
Exhale pulling down, inhale returning.
