Machine Crossovers
The crossover on a seated lever machine: straight arms sweep from shoulder height at the sides down to the thighs.
How to do it
Setup
Seated with the back to the pad, the lever axes beside the shoulders, arms out to the sides on the handles.
Steps
- Sweep both handles down and in to the front of the thighs.
- Keep the elbows almost straight and the chest up.
- Let the arms rise back to shoulder height under control.
Common mistakes
Bending the elbows to pull: the arc is straight-armed; lighten the stack. Leaning forward off the pad: keep the back against it. Letting the handles fly up above the shoulders: stop the return at shoulder height.
Breathing
Exhale on the squeeze, inhale opening.
