Lying Air Cycles
Lying flat on the back, pedal the legs in the air in big alternating circles while the upper body stays down.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the back, arms along the floor, both legs raised off the floor.
Steps
- Draw one knee toward the chest as the other leg reaches long.
- Switch in a smooth pedaling circle.
- Keep the lower back pressed to the floor throughout.
Common mistakes
Lower back arching as the legs reach long: pedal higher until it stays down. Tiny kicks instead of circles: bend and reach the full way. Head and shoulders lifting: this is the flat version; leave the crunch to the bicycle crunch.
Breathing
Steady rhythm; never held.
