Kettlebell Single-Leg Step-Up

The step-up onto a low platform with a kettlebell in one hand, the same leg leading every rep; the offset bell makes the trunk resist a sideways lean.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a low step, a kettlebell hanging in one hand, the working foot flat on the step.

Steps

  1. Stand up through the leg on the step, the bell hanging still.
  2. Bring the other foot up beside it at the top.
  3. Step down with the free leg and repeat on the same side; switch after the set.

Common mistakes

Leaning toward the bell: stand tall; the trunk holds the offset load. Bouncing off the floor leg: pause before each step up. Switching legs mid-set: one leg does the whole set.

Breathing

Exhale stepping up, inhale down.
