Kettlebell Single Front Squat

The front squat with one kettlebell racked at one shoulder; the trunk works against the lopsided load.

How to do it

Setup

One kettlebell racked at the shoulder, elbow tucked, the free hand on the hip.

Steps

  1. Squat down, keeping both shoulders level.
  2. Hold the bell tight to the chest at the bottom.
  3. Stand tall; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Leaning away from the bell: shoulders level, torso tall. Elbow drifting out: the bell slides off the rack; tuck it. The same side every set: switch so both sides share the load.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
