Kettlebell Seated One-Arm Military Press

The one-arm kettlebell press from a seat; the free hand rests on the thigh and the trunk must not lean away from the bell.

How to do it

Setup

Seated upright on a bench, feet planted, one kettlebell racked at the shoulder, the other hand on the thigh.

Steps

  1. Press the bell straight up until the arm locks.
  2. Keep both hips heavy on the bench.
  3. Lower the bell into the rack; finish the set, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Leaning away from the bell to finish: sit tall, shoulders level. One hip lifting off the bench: keep both down. Bell drifting behind the head: lock it out over the shoulder.

Breathing

Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
