Kettlebell Push Press

Dip at the knees and drive the bell overhead with the legs' momentum, then lower it to the rack with control.

Kettlebell Push Press, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Bell racked at the shoulder, feet hip-width, knees ready to dip.

Steps

  1. Dip shallow and fast at the knees.
  2. Drive the legs and let the momentum launch the bell.
  3. Finish the press overhead, lower with control.

Common mistakes

Deep slow dip: the bounce dies; short and sharp. Hips hinging in the dip: knees bend, torso stays tall. Arm pressing alone: this is the LEGS' lift; strict press is a different exercise.

Breathing

Inhale at the dip, exhale on the drive.
