Cable Standing Biceps Curl to Arnold Press

Two low cables curled to the shoulders and pressed overhead with the Arnold turn in one rep; the cables load both halves.

How to do it

Setup

Standing between two low pulleys, a handle in each hand, arms straight, palms forward.

Steps

  1. Curl both handles to the shoulders, palms turning toward you.
  2. Press them overhead, turning the palms forward as the arms straighten.
  3. Reverse the press to the shoulders, then lower to straight arms.

Common mistakes

Swinging the curl with the hips: keep the elbows at the sides and the body still. Pressing before the curl is finished: bring the hands to the shoulders first. Leaning back under the press: brace and keep the ribs down.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl and the press, inhale lowering.
