Kettlebell One-Arm Military Press to the Side
The strict one-arm kettlebell press with the elbow out to the SIDE in the rack, so the bell rises beside the head; the eyes follow it up.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet shoulder-width, the bell racked beside the head with the elbow pointing out to the side, free arm down.
Steps
- Press the bell straight up beside the head until the arm locks.
- Turn the eyes up to the bell as it rises, torso still.
- Lower it back beside the head with the elbow out.
Common mistakes
Leaning away from the bell to finish: squeeze the glutes and keep the ribs over the hips. Wrist bending back under the bell: knuckles up, forearm vertical. Bell drifting out wide as it rises: press it straight up beside the ear.
Breathing
Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
