Kettlebell Half-Kneeling Shoulder Press

The half-kneeling press with one kettlebell racked on the back of the forearm; the knee under the pressing arm is down.

How to do it

Setup

Half-kneeling, the knee under the pressing arm down, the bell racked, the free hand on the front knee.

Steps

  1. Squeeze the glute of the down leg before each press.
  2. Press the bell overhead until the arm locks over the shoulder.
  3. Lower it to the rack; change the knee and the arm between sets.

Common mistakes

Leaning away from the bell: keep the ribs stacked over the hips. Front knee drifting inward: keep it over the ankle. Wrist bent back under the bell: knuckles to the ceiling, forearm vertical.

Breathing

Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
