Kettlebell Bent Press
One kettlebell ends up overhead because the torso bends away and down under it while the arm stays vertical; then you stand up under the locked arm.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet wider than the hips and turned away from the bell's side, the bell racked at the shoulder, the upper arm against the side.
Steps
- Shift the hips toward the bell and bend the torso away and forward, forearm vertical.
- Watch the bell as the body sinks under it and the arm straightens.
- With the arm locked, stand up tall under the bell, then lower it to the rack.
Common mistakes
Pressing the bell up with the arm: the arm stays still while the body bends away from it. Losing sight of the bell: eyes on it the whole way. Going heavy before the pattern is smooth: learn it light; it loads the spine sideways.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
