Kettlebell Arnold Press

The one-arm Arnold press standing with a kettlebell: the bell starts in front of the shoulder, palm facing you, and turns forward as it rises.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, one kettlebell held in front of the shoulder, palm facing you, elbow in front, the free arm at the side.

Steps

  1. Press the bell up, turning the palm forward as the elbow rises.
  2. Finish with the arm locked over the shoulder, knuckles to the ceiling.
  3. Lower along the same path, turning the palm back in; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Turning the wrist before the elbow rises: let the turn follow the press. Wrist bent back under the bell: keep it straight. Leaning away from the bell: squeeze the glutes and stay tall.

Breathing

Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
