Dumbbell Seated Reverse Arnold Press

The Arnold press run backwards: pressed up with the palms facing in, turned forward at the top and lowered out wide.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on a flat bench, bells in front of the shoulders, palms facing each other, elbows forward.

Steps

  1. Press the bells straight up with the palms facing in.
  2. Turn the palms forward at the top and lower the bells out wide to ear height.
  3. Bring the elbows back in front, palms in, to finish the rep.

Common mistakes

Turning the palms before the arms are straight: finish the press, then turn. Dropping the bells out wide too fast: lower them under control. Arching the back on the bench: sit tall with the ribs down.

Breathing

Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
