Kettlebell Ipsilateral Reverse Lunge

The reverse lunge with one kettlebell racked at the shoulder above the front leg; the load sits right over the working side.

How to do it

Setup

Kettlebell racked at one shoulder, the free arm at the side, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Step back with the leg opposite the bell.
  2. Lower the back knee under control, chest up.
  3. Drive up; finish the side, then switch.

Common mistakes

Shoulder sagging under the bell: keep the rack tight and the chest square. Front knee drifting inward: track it over the toes. Stepping back on a tightrope: keep the feet hip-width apart.

Breathing

Inhale stepping back, exhale rising.
