Kettlebell Calf Raise and Front Squat

Two kettlebells in the rack: a calf raise at the top, then a front squat, one after the other in every rep.

How to do it

Setup

Two kettlebells racked at the shoulders, elbows tucked, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Rise onto the toes and lower the heels with control.
  2. Squat down with the bells held tight in the rack.
  3. Stand up and start the next calf raise.

Common mistakes

Wobbling on the toes: lower the heels before you squat. Bells pulling the chest forward in the squat: elbows in, chest tall. Rushing between the two parts: finish one before starting the next.

Breathing

Exhale on each rise, inhale lowering.
