Cross Jump Jack
The cross jack with the arms kept low: they cross in front of the belly as the legs cross, and open down by the sides.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet together, forearms crossed in front of the belly.
Steps
- Jump the feet out wide as the arms open down and out to the sides.
- Jump them back in, one foot crossing in front, as the forearms cross at the belly.
- Switch the front foot on each rep, light on the balls of the feet.
Common mistakes
Arms swinging up to shoulder height: that is the cross jack; keep this one low. Same foot always crossing in front: alternate every rep. Knees locked on the landings: let them give a little on each touch.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
