Jump Step Jump
A small jump in place, a step to the side, another jump, a step back; a low-impact rhythm drill.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, arms relaxed.
Steps
- Jump straight up a little and land soft.
- Step to the side, then jump again.
- Step back and repeat, keeping the rhythm even.
Common mistakes
Stomping the landings: land on the balls of the feet, quietly. Stepping wide and losing balance: a hip-width step is enough. Stiff knees on the jumps: bend them as you land.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
