Criss-Cross Tuck Jump
A few quick hops that cross and open the feet, then one tuck jump out of a wide squat; the footwork sets the rhythm for the big jump.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet together, hands in front of the chest.
Steps
- Hop the feet apart, then hop them back crossed, one in front of the other.
- After a few crosses, land wide and sink into a squat.
- Jump and pull the knees to the chest, then land soft, knees over the toes.
Common mistakes
Heavy flat-footed crosses: the hops stay light, on the balls of the feet. Tuck jump from a narrow stance: land wide first, then jump. Knees folding inward on the last landing: push them out over the toes.
Breathing
Exhale on every jump; keep the rhythm.
