Kettlebell Ipsilateral Reverse Lunge High Knee

The ipsilateral kettlebell reverse lunge finished with the back knee driven up to hip height before the next rep.

How to do it

Setup

Kettlebell racked at the shoulder above the standing leg, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Step back into a reverse lunge, the bell still racked.
  2. Stand and drive the back knee up to hip height.
  3. Hold the balance for a beat, then step back again.

Common mistakes

Hopping to keep balance on the knee drive: slow the rep and pause on top. Leaning away from the bell: stay tall and square. Front knee caving on the way up: track it over the toes.

Breathing

Inhale stepping back, exhale driving the knee up.
