Kettlebell Alternating Row

Hinged over with a kettlebell hanging in each hand, row one bell to the hip while the other hangs still, then switch.

How to do it

Setup

Hinged to about 45°, back flat, knees soft, a kettlebell hanging from each hand under the shoulders.

Steps

  1. Row one bell to the hip, elbow along the body.
  2. Lower it to a long arm as the other bell starts its row.
  3. Keep the hinge and the hips square the whole set.

Common mistakes

Standing up between reps: hold the hinge; the angle is the work. Torso twisting toward the rowing side: shoulders square to the floor. Bells swinging: row and lower each one under control.

Breathing

Exhale on each row, inhale switching.
