Inverted Wide to Narrow Row
The inverted row with the hands moving on the bar: a rep with a wide grip, then the hands step in for a rep with a narrow one.
How to do it
Setup
Under a bar at hip height, heels on the floor, body in one line, hands wide on the bar.
Steps
- Pull the chest to the bar with the wide grip.
- Lower, then walk the hands in to a narrow grip.
- Pull again with the elbows tight, then walk the hands back out.
Common mistakes
Moving the hands at the top: shift them only at the bottom, arms straight. Hips sagging during the shuffle: the body stays one line. Narrow reps turning into curls: the elbows still drive back.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
