Jack Burpee

A burpee that swaps the push-up for a plank jack: in the plank, jump the feet wide and back together before jumping them in to stand.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, feet hip-width, arms at the sides.

Steps

  1. Squat, plant the hands and jump the feet back to a plank.
  2. Jump the feet wide and back together, hips level.
  3. Jump the feet to the hands and leap up with the arms overhead.

Common mistakes

Hips bobbing up during the jack: keep the plank flat while the feet move. Landing the feet far from the hands: jump them in close to stand up easily. Stopping short of standing tall: finish every rep with the hips extended in the air.

Breathing

Exhale on every jump; keep the rhythm.
