Star Jump

From a quarter squat, jump straight up and spread the arms and legs wide like a star, then bring them back together to land.

How to do it

Setup

Feet together, hips and knees dipped into a quarter squat, hands low.

Steps

  1. Explode up and spread the arms and legs wide in the air.
  2. Bring the feet back together before they touch down.
  3. Land soft in the quarter squat and go again.

Common mistakes

Landing with the feet still wide: close them in the air. Stiff landings: bend into the quarter squat. Arms staying at the sides: throw them out wide with the legs.

Breathing

Exhale on the jump, inhale landing.
