Astride Jumps
The jumping jack with the arms stopping at shoulder height: the feet jump apart as the arms rise to the sides, then both return.
How to do it
Setup
Feet together, arms hanging by the thighs, body tall.
Steps
- Jump the feet wide as the arms lift sideways to shoulder height.
- Jump them back together as the arms return to the thighs.
- Stay light and springy on the balls of the feet.
Common mistakes
Arms flying up overhead: they stop level with the shoulders. Landing on the heels: stay on the balls of the feet. Knees locking on each landing: keep them soft.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
