Incline Dumbbell Fly

Bench inclined about 30-45 degrees; open slightly bent arms out to the sides until the upper chest stretches, then bring the dumbbells together above you.

How to do it

Setup

Bench at 30–45°, bells over the upper chest, palms facing, elbows softly bent.

Steps

  1. Open the arms in a wide arc until the upper chest stretches.
  2. Keep the soft elbow angle frozen.
  3. Squeeze back up along the same arc.

Common mistakes

Turning it into a press: the angle never changes. Dropping below the stretch: the shoulder takes it; chest level is depth enough. Too heavy: flys stay light.

Inhale opening, exhale on the squeeze.
