Band Low Fly

The fly from low to high with a band anchored behind you near the floor; the upward sweep loads the upper chest.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, the band anchored low behind, a handle in each hand beside the hips.

Steps

  1. Sweep both arms forward and up until the hands meet at eye level.
  2. Keep a soft bend in the elbows the whole way.
  3. Let the arms travel back down beside the hips slowly.

Common mistakes

Raising the arms straight ahead like a front raise: the hands travel in toward each other as well. Leaning back to lift higher: stay tall, ribs down. Dropping the arms fast: the band wants them down; lower them against it.

Breathing

Exhale on the sweep up, inhale lowering.
