Hydrotherapy Walking on Spot
Marching on the spot in waist-deep water, the knees lifting against the water's drag; a gentle pool walk.
How to do it
Setup
Standing in waist-deep water, feet hip-width, hands on the hips.
Steps
- Lift one knee toward hip height against the water.
- Lower it to the pool floor and switch knees.
- Keep a steady pace and the trunk upright.
Common mistakes
Leaning back to lift the knees: stay tall over the hips. Rushing the steps: the water resists speed; keep it even. Knees barely lifting: bring each thigh up toward level.
Breathing
Steady with the steps.
