Hand Opposite Knee Crunch
A diagonal crunch in which one hand reaches across to the opposite knee while the other supports the head.
How to do it
Setup
On your back, knees bent, feet flat, one hand behind the head, the other arm straight by the side.
Steps
- Curl up and reach the straight arm to the opposite knee.
- Turn the shoulder, not just the hand, toward the knee.
- Roll down and reach with the other hand next.
Common mistakes
Hand sliding to the knee while the shoulder stays down: the shoulder travels. Pulling the head with the supporting hand: it only cradles it. Reaching for the near knee: the target is the OPPOSITE one.
Breathing
Exhale on the crunch, inhale lowering.
