Half Sit-Up
A sit-up from lying flat with the legs straight to an upright seat, the hands sliding along the floor beside the hips.
How to do it
Setup
Lying flat, legs straight and together, arms along the sides, palms down.
Steps
- Curl up to an upright seat, the hands sliding along the floor.
- Sit tall for a beat, chest up.
- Lower back to the floor one section of the spine at a time.
Common mistakes
Pushing up with the hands: they slide along; the abs lift you. Legs lifting as you rise: keep the heels on the floor. Dropping flat onto the back: roll down slowly.
Breathing
Exhale sitting up, inhale rolling down.
