Finger Push-Up

The push-up on the fingertips instead of the flat palms; the fingers and forearms hold the weight, the chest and arms still do the pressing.

How to do it

Setup

High plank on spread fingertips, palms lifted off the floor, hands under the shoulders.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest to just above the floor, fingers staying arched.
  2. Press back up without letting the palms sink to the floor.
  3. Rest on the palms between sets, not between reps.

Common mistakes

Fingers collapsing flat: fewer reps or from the knees until they hold. Fingers bunched together: spread all five for a wider base. Starting with full sets on the fingertips: build up over weeks; the fingers adapt slowly.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
