Kettlebell Bottom-Up One-Arm Bench Press

The one-arm kettlebell bench press with the bell held upside down; balancing it forces a hard grip and a slow, straight press.

How to do it

Setup

Flat bench, the bell held bottom up at the chest, forearm vertical.

Steps

  1. Crush the handle and press slowly straight up.
  2. Pause at lockout with the bell balanced.
  3. Lower even slower; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

A loose grip: the bell tips over; crush the handle. Forearm leaning off vertical: the bell follows it. Pressing fast: balance lives at slow speed.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
