Kettlebell One-Arm Bench Press

The one-arm kettlebell press on a bench, the bell riding the back of the forearm; the bench lets the elbow sink below the torso.

How to do it

Setup

Flat bench, the bell racked on the forearm at the chest, knuckles up.

Steps

  1. Drive the bell up until the arm locks over the chest.
  2. Lower it to the side of the chest, elbow about 45° from the body.
  3. Finish the set, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Wrist bending back under the bell: knuckles up. Rolling toward the working side: shoulders flat on the bench. Elbow dropping far below the bench: stop at a comfortable stretch.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
