Finger Curls
The finger curl with a barbell, seated with the forearms on the thighs; the bar travels from the fingertips to the palms while the wrists hold still.
How to do it
Setup
On the end of a bench, forearms on the thighs, palms up, bar across the fingers past the knees.
Steps
- Let the bar roll out to the last finger joints.
- Close the hands around it, fingers only.
- Stop before the wrists join in.
Common mistakes
Wrists flexing to lift the bar: they stay level with the forearms. Letting the bar go too far: keep it hooked at the tips. Rushing the reps: slow rolls, full closes.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
