Elevated Inverted Underhand Grip Row between 3 Chairs
The elevated chair row with an underhand grip: heels on a third chair, palms toward you on the stick, elbows close to the body.
How to do it
Setup
A sturdy stick across the backs of two heavy chairs, underhand grip shoulder-width, heels on the seat of a third chair, body level.
Steps
- Pull the lower chest to the stick, elbows tight to the ribs.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades at the top.
- Lower slowly, body level all the way.
Common mistakes
Elbows flaring out: the underhand grip keeps them close; use it. Heels slipping off the third chair: set them before the first rep. Chairs creeping inward: pull straight up.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
