Inverted Row Bent Knees
The inverted row with the knees bent and the feet flat on the floor; the legs share the load, so it is the lighter start before straight legs.
How to do it
Setup
Under a bar at arm's reach, knees bent to about 90°, feet flat, hips lifted in line with the thighs, arms straight.
Steps
- Pull the chest to the bar with the hips staying up.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades together.
- Lower to straight arms, hips still lifted.
Common mistakes
Hips dropping toward the floor: knees, hips and shoulders stay in line. Driving up with the legs: the feet anchor; the back pulls. Shoulders creeping to the ears: blades back and down.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
