Dumbbell Seated Reverse-Grip Biceps Curl

The dumbbell reverse curl seated against an upright back rest, which takes the body swing out of it.

How to do it

Setup

Seated with the back against an upright pad, bells hanging at the sides, overhand grip.

Steps

  1. Bring the dumbbells up until the forearms are vertical.
  2. Keep the back against the pad the whole set.
  3. Lower until the arms hang straight beside the seat.

Common mistakes

Bells hitting the seat at the bottom: sit forward enough for a full hang. Head and shoulders lifting off the pad: stay back. Using the weight of your standing curls: seated, with no swing, go lighter.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
