Dumbbell One-Arm Press on Stability Ball

The one-arm dumbbell press with the upper back on a ball and the hips up; one bell tries to roll the body, and the trunk holds it square.

How to do it

Setup

Upper back on the ball, hips level with the knees, one bell at the chest.

Steps

  1. Push the bell up from the chest until the elbow locks.
  2. Keep the free-side hip from dropping.
  3. Lower it beside the chest; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Rolling toward the working arm: press the far shoulder into the ball. Hips sagging: keep the bridge. Pressing toward the face: the bell finishes over the chest, not the head.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
