Dumbbell Press on Stability Ball
The dumbbell bench press with the upper back on a stability ball instead of a bench; the hips and trunk hold a flat bridge under the press.
How to do it
Setup
Upper back and head on the ball, hips level with the knees, feet flat, bells at the chest.
Steps
- Press the bells up over the chest to straight arms.
- Hold the hips up; the bridge never sags.
- Lower the bells until the upper arms are level with the torso.
Common mistakes
Hips sagging with every rep: squeeze the glutes, one line to the knees. Sliding down the ball as you lower: set the shoulders on its top. Heavy bells before the bridge is steady: the ball wobbles; start light.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale on the press.
