Dumbbell Reverse Bench Press

The flat dumbbell press with the palms turned toward the face; the grip keeps the elbows tucked.

How to do it

Setup

Flat bench, bells at the lower chest, palms facing the face.

Steps

  1. Press both bells up, palms still facing you.
  2. Stop with the arms straight over the lower chest.
  3. Bring the bells down beside the lower ribs, elbows tucked.

Common mistakes

Grip drifting back to palms forward: the reverse grip is the point. Bells traveling toward the face: they rise over the LOWER chest. Knuckles tipping back toward the floor: straighten the wrists over the forearms.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
