Dumbbell Lying Wide Curl
Lying face up on a flat bench with the arms out to the sides, curl the dumbbells up toward the shoulders while the upper arms stay out wide.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on a flat bench, feet on the floor, arms out to the sides level with the bench, palms up.
Steps
- Curl the bells up and in toward the shoulders.
- Keep the elbows out to the sides.
- Lower back to the arms-wide start.
Common mistakes
Dropping the bells below the bench: stop level with it; the shoulder is exposed there. Elbows drifting in to the ribs: keep them wide. Heavy bells: this angle is for light, slow reps.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
