Dumbbell Incline Biceps Curl (70 Degrees)

The incline dumbbell curl on a bench set steep, near 70°; the arms hang less far behind the body, so the stretch at the bottom is milder than on a lower incline.

How to do it

Setup

Seated with the back against a bench set near 70°, dumbbells hanging at arm's length beside it, palms forward.

Steps

  1. Curl both bells to the shoulders, head and back on the pad.
  2. Keep the elbows pointing at the floor.
  3. Lower slowly into the full hang.

Common mistakes

Shoulders peeling off the backrest at the top: stay against it. Elbows swinging forward: they hang straight down and stay there. Cutting the bottom short: finish each rep with straight arms.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
