Dumbbell High Curl
Standing with the upper arms raised out to the sides at shoulder height, curl the dumbbells toward the ears; the dumbbell version of the high-cable crucifix curl.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, arms out to the sides at shoulder height, a dumbbell in each hand, palms up.
Steps
- Curl the bells toward the ears, upper arms level.
- Hold the top for a beat, elbows at shoulder height.
- Straighten the arms back out to the sides.
Common mistakes
Elbows sinking as the shoulders tire: keep the upper arms level, lighter bells. Shrugging the shoulders up: keep them down. Heavy bells: the held arms limit this lift; go light.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale extending.
