Dumbbell Lying Close-Grip Parallel Row on Rack
The dumbbell seal row with the bells held side by side and the palms facing each other; the elbows travel tight along the ribs.
How to do it
Setup
Face down on a bench set high on a rack, a dumbbell in each hand below, palms facing each other, bells nearly touching.
Steps
- Row the bells up past the bench line, elbows brushing the ribs.
- Keep the bells close together all the way.
- Lower to long arms with control.
Common mistakes
Bells drifting apart at the top: they travel side by side. Elbows flaring out: brush the ribs on the way up. Head lifting to watch the bells: forehead down, neck long.
Breathing
Exhale on the row, inhale in the hang.
