Dumbbell Larsen Press
The Larsen press with dumbbells: legs straight out and lifted, each arm pressing its own bell while the trunk holds the body still on the bench.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on a flat bench, dumbbells over the chest, legs straight out and lifted off the floor.
Steps
- Lower the bells to the sides of the chest, elbows about 45° from the body.
- Keep the legs straight and still in the air.
- Press both bells up over the chest.
Common mistakes
Getting into position with the legs already up: set the bells on the chest first, then lift the legs. Hips twisting when one bell lags: press both together and evenly. Legs swinging to help the press: they stay straight and still.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale pressing.
